Myrtle Beach NC - Mustang Week 2019

Looking for others that are going to Mustang Week 2019 in Myrtle Beach. I am posting this here for the exposure, so feel free to chime in here but if you are actually going, please post to and follow this thread: https://forums.vintage-mustang.com/m...-beach-sc.html

Edit: Yep, a title error. It's South Carolina

Last time I watched videos from MW all I saw was fox body and newer cars driven by a bunch of non driving idiots crashing into everything...
Do vintage mustang owners even go there?

We're driving the mustang down to Holden Beach that week and will pop over there Friday to see how it is. Maybe go there Saturday too. I've been to MB enough times but always by boat so this should be interesting. I was down there once and by coincidence it was "Bike Week". That was crazy. I imagine this will be too.

I admit, people tend to do stupid things and then they end up in the news and on the internet. You don't get to see all the good drivers doing nothing interesting.

There are a lot more newer Mustangs out there than the classics, but there are classics out there, and I will be one of them.

Just tried to link about 10 photos of 1st gen (classic) Mustangs going to MW but they wont show.

Darlington Dragway

Thursday, Sept 5th 2019 I will be taking my car to Darlington Dragway for MW's Test-N-Tune day. The event starts at 11am and they do not currently have an end time listed. Past years have reported a very high turnout so I will try to be early.

Video/Photos attached are from the 1/8th mile track @ English Mountian Speedway in Tn.

Guess you did not read post #1?

Yea, I asked GypsyR to change it, but seems he is not high enough on the totem pole.

Saw “Myrtle Beach, NC” and the red veil descended. Gypsy is in SC so he is probably delirious with the added stature NC gives to anything south of the border.

I'll be working in the area Wednesday through Friday. My plan is to hit the car show Friday morning and head home that afternoon. I won't be driving either of my Mustangs though...Is it wrong to attend Mustang week in a German Automobile?

Does not matter to me, just as long as you dont try to enter it in the show.

For the drag races, I'll be changing out my Nitto G2's for the Nitto 555 Drag radials. They are a shorter and fatter tire and this time, I'll have 2nd gear, so I hope to be doing some low 13's, and I'd be ecstatic to hit the high 12's.

I may be changing my plans next week based on what the Hurricane does. Work might be crazy depending on the storms path. David- looks like your plans to head to SC are rather timely. Hopefully the storm takes a hard right and keeps the rains to a minimum at Myrtle Beach.

I've been all over the place about going, not going, when to go with Dorian running amuck out there. If the Eastwardly track shift continues to take place, it looks like I will be back to my original schedule of leaving Sunday. The difference is that I might take the Turnpike to I-75 to get out of Fla instead of I-95 as they are keeping the pumps running on the turnpike's rest stops.

Gas Buddy just reported that 60% of Miami/Dade County's gast stations are out of gas, and we are not even expected to be close to the COC of Dorian.

A friend turned me onto this page, it's a little slow with the updates, but otherwise pretty good.

Myrtle Beach SC - Mustang Week 2019

Leaving tonight, running up the Fla Turnpike as they have gas. More than likely stopping in N Fla after driving a be, but hoping to get ahead of all the traffic that is expected in the morning when they announce mandatory evacuations.

Dorian is getting later, and has moved east. The weather might end some things, but its not going to stop everything.

Looks like the Governor of SC made the decision for us. I just cancelled my reservations.
