I have bought literally hundreds of Mustangs since 1969, and some came with oceans of parts. In some cases, the parts were worth far more than the car.
Then, at swap meets, you see the wreckage of failed projects, new parts, unused, selling for 40% or less than what the person paid for the parts.
That does not count parts that are damaged waiting to be installed (cracked windshields, dented hoods, etc.), age sensitive parts (nothing like new upholstery in the box, purchased, then sitting in a hot shed for 10 years), and changed direction parts (18" wheels and tires purchased, then, well, now back to 14" SS wheels, so tire/wheel set A, sitting for 5 years, has almost no value.
