Most of the parts used for that conversion are specific to Mustang. Motor mounts, clutch linkage, shifter mount, the trans crossmember is unique, exhaust, etc. (if the Fairlane was a 67 the exhaust manifolds would have worked). If you want to use manifolds you will need to get a 390 that came from a unit body car, as in Mustang, Cougar, Comet, Fairlane. And you want the 67 or later manifolds. Good news is all the stuff can be found, some not real easy but itís all out there. Unfortunately some of it (or most of it) wonít be cheap. Out of curiosity, what are they asking for the Fairlane and how well does it run? If you got it relatively cheap, youíre probably still looking at another 2k (minimum) for the rest of the stuff to get it in your Mustang.
