VMF helping and having fun

VMF is where it's at. I have really enjoyed the kinship that has come along with having a place to come to any time day or night, no matter the weather, to see and talk about vintage Mustangs (among other things) and it is really motivating to spend time working on the cars with my sons.
I met a fellow Mustang owner at a local convenience store recently, with the hood up on his nice Wimbledon White 66 hardtop. My younger son and I motored over in MyFirstCar, and offered a hand. Nothing major, we talked about Mustangs for a while, including VMF, he got his going and we were off. Well, my new friend @AL_Pony found me on VMF and we have texted some and met again for advice. @AL_Pony originally hails from Germany and is enjoying his new old car a little more all the time. Today he was welcomed to my home and we worked on getting his back window installed correctly with the "rope and push" method and sealed with Bedding & Glazing Compound. (One of my neighbors came over thinking, "Gosh, he got another one ! !" Oh, no, I'm all out of space ! !
I think he will get the stainless trim installed soon. I really enjoyed working on the car and hope we get to cruise around together soon ! Thanks, VMF.

When the GT gets out of paint, I'm coming to Auburn with it, share some stories and drink an adult beverage (provided you won't throw me in the slammer)...

...Have Mustang. Will travel...

I think we could have our own Cruise-In somewhere.
If we can get @subpar63, @low-alabama, and @bmcgc on board then we would be the talk of the town ! !

** There's a Cruise-In at the Tiger Town Home Depot parking lot the 2nd Saturday of every month starting around 5pm (maybe a little earlier as the days get shorter)**

LOTS of classics, some late models, some imports and even a Jeep crowd. I take my boys sometimes. I plan to take my Patrol truck there this weekend since I'm working. People are curious about police vehicles, too !

The VFM is a great place. @2nd 66 and @dobrostang are close enough that we all get together a few times a year for some fun.

We have our club car show coming up next month. Would be great to see some of your cars there. Bring the family and enjoy the beach too now that the tourists are gone. We can set up a cruise on Fri for anyone who is in town.

ABSOLUTELY ! ! !
I certainly wouldn't want to leave anyone out that can drive (or trailer then drive) their Pony to meet up. And I LOVE to drive my car (okay, cars) !
Unfortunately, my work schedule rotates the start and end days and I rotate day shift to night shift (currently), and I could plan for me but I hafta work-in my wife and kids, who have a "normal" life, and still keep the grass cut and do all the Dad and son-in-law stuff. Ugh! I know some of you are in the same bo.....uh...Mustang. I sometimes hafta just "spring" into action to have fun like I have to at work. Charlotte was an example. I was having trouble sleeping one Thursday, wife was off work and kids had a long weekend, weather was iffy then crappy but I hadn't been able to go to a Mustang show since 2004 in Nashville and 2009 in Birmingham, I had the $ so )))sproing((( we went ! We had a BLAST ! !

I NEED TO GET OUT MORE.

Speaking of which ,9/29/19 @ Senaca army depot and 10/20/19 @ WGI
I have a couple of people rather close with 65/66 Mustangs ,Actually 1 guy across the road and 2 houses down has a real nice vert not on VMF
and 2 others a few miles in either direction I seen there cars and haven's been able to talk to,I've thought about dropping of a business type card inviting them to VMF.
couple of others that are fairly close I would like to meet up with are @Till82 and @rreitz

@myfirstcar66: Had a blast yesterday. Your help is highly appreciated. I will put on the trim later today / tomorrow.
It would be great if we could meet a few other mustang drivers in the future, sure would be a lot of fun.

It would be great to put a face with a VMF member name (and their car). If something comes together I'll try my best to join in the fun.

@Flade - I would love to attend the show on Oct 26 as it is not that far away from our location in Silverhill. BUT there is no way the wife will give me a weekend pass as that is our grandson's 11th birthday weekend. We have never been able to celebrate with him in person and being with and around him is the main reason we made the 1300 mile move here this past winter.

I would make an effort to be off work and show any VMFrs a good old car time if I know you're coming through. Maybe we can actually organize a big SE Regional VMF get-together. It's pretty much year-round cruising weather here. I drive mine all year.

Auburn is about 5 and 1/2 hours, nearer to the Georgia border, East Central AL. It is gorgeous here, and the fall will be beautiful as always around campus. We're a small town with a big University and we're on the way to everywhere.

You would be best to take I-65 (or US 31 if you want to stay off interstates) south to Birmingham then US 280 East to Auburn.
