so I was dropping my daughter at school last week and I saw a '65 mustang in the student lot. I wanted to stop and get a picture, but the lot was full of kids, and no way I was going to whip out the phone and take pics lol. so today I was there in the afternoon, no kids in the lot and the car was there. looks to be a 289 / auto, decent condition. it has the 94-98 16" "waffle stars" on it, and I have to admit I really like them on the car. anyway, I can't remember the last time I saw a classic in any of the school parking lots around here. guess there's hope for at least one kid there
All is not lost ! ! Notice how he parked nearly in the weeds to keep his driver side far away from the next spot?
I don't have the picture on my phone now, but there's a NICE Nightmist Blue '67 coupe at my son's high school most days. He found out it's a 16 year-old girl's car ! Can you imagine his excitement and my enthusiasm?! He isn't old enough to drive his Emberglo '66 there yet...I told him we'll take a nice picture of him with his, put it on her wiper and invite her to meet up at the local Cruise-In...
+1^^^^
My '65 GT coupe still has the parking permits in it too- almost 30years old now! Honestly- and unfortunately- it probably still has some of the same gas in it too!! lol
There's plenty of hope in today's youth. There are many young gear heads out there. I substitute teach at the high school down the road, where a gal drove a cherry 65 coupe for three years. The kids are constantly commenting on my 69. I was stunned when a 16 yo girl asked all kinds of questions about the make up of my car.
