Unhappy Mustang business closing-

A long-time friend is losing his lease space and has 30+ years collection of parts and etc. He has a lot of good, early mustang parts, lots of rough stuff, but it needs to go before Feb., or it will become landfill junk. He's in South Miami and it's not too close to most of us, but cheap parts more than covers shipping. Call Stan to see if has what you need or if you want to fill up a semi with parts! 305-264-4130 https://www.facebook.com/The-Mustang...5938038801844/

Fire Dept changed their minds on code violations after telling him 1 way and changing the rules. Bldg Dept also got involved and are asking for moronic changes that would cost $$'s. They want stairs removed and use a ladder to get parts from 2nd floor, remove flooring between the 2 top floor areas to make it look like shelving and eliminate access to parts, etc. It's Dade Co and they are typical lib-minded- their way usually does not follow common sense. I close years ago because they wanted $40K of stuff that we "might" use and had to leeway for shops that did not do that type of work. They said we "might" have one come in in the future! Add the fees went up 10X and it wasn't worth the efforts! Either way, he got a lot of good parts that have no where to go!
I'm stopping by there tomorrow and will take pics.

Any chance there's a list of parts to peruse?

1970 Mach 1 M code
1990 5.0 LX Limited Edition

I keep noticing the DOT puts up signs to honor my burnouts. That's nice of them.

Doesn't seem to have '68 weather stripping.

I wan't the complete trunk, doors, windows.

the body parts he is selling, I'm assuming it's metal. But sourced from where? I hope it's not China knock offs. I had enough with made in China products, never lasted more than 2-5 months.

I've known Stanley for many years, and he's helped me many times. A good guy. So sorry for the Dade County boondogle. He's got a LOT of stuff, don't know if it's inventoried.

Parts

Most of what he has is from parts cars. Newer is repro, but he has shelves of salvaged parts. I tried to post pics, but it won't let me and no one has gotten back to me as to what the problem is.

Miami-Dade County is coming down hard on us car guys. No more car shows unless we meet new strict standards. Fire code violations all over the place. I had to remove my car from my property as I was violating county code and someone reported me.

PonyDoc, I knew he was hurting, did not know there was an end date in place. I will check tomorrow and see if I can get any more details about Stan and his business, whats going to happen to his inventory.

Thats ridiculous! "Auto Repair

It is illegal to do major auto repairs in a residential area.

What constitutes illegal (major) auto repairs?
Vehicle without wheels on stands is clear evidence of major auto repairsRepairs that cannot be completed within 72 hours.
Repairs that involve removal of major components of a vehicle such as the engine, transmission, radiator, rear suspension, gas tank or work that requires the placement of the vehicle on blocks with the tires removed is strictly prohibited."

I'd have to move someplace else!
