I'm not ashamed! My car's got a name - Calamity Jane. And everyone knows who I'm talking about when I say "I'm taking Jane out camping this weekend"

Really though, the name fits. I named this car because it definitely has a "personality" and she's kind of just a queen bitch. It makes more sense to me to be furious at an animate object than to be furious at an inanimate object... I'd feel significantly more insane shouting at something that has no mind of its own.

When I show up at a car show and my car is covered in mud, it's probably because I drove 2000 miles to get there

When it was green, it was "Kermit". Now that it's yellow, I'm not sure, yet. I could call it what is most frequently repeated when working on it, but people might take offense.

Thumbs Up

Yep we have a name for it. The first time my grandson saw the car in person was two years ago, he was 6 at the time.

He named it "Skye" because the color reminded him of the color of the sky.

Perhaps I should have named mine "Mutt", given the parts from Acura, BMW, and now likely VW/Recaro too. Also, there's this Lexus paint color I keep thinking about....

My wife named her mustang MLP (My Little Pony - like the cartoon) We grew up in the late 80's/90's.

I named my 65 Shelby because it's an awesome name and I don't care that it's a plain 289 Coupe.

I wish it was that simple for me but there is 4 Mustangs between me & my pops so whenever we/someone mentions "the Mustang" it is nearly always followed by "which one".

That being said still haven't given any of them names except for my pops '68 Fastback which people call the "White Ghost" do to the white paint & the fact it hardly ever gets driven.

I always named my cars after ex-girlfriends, but that had to stop after I got married and ran out of ex-girlfriend's names Besides that it is bad form to ask you wife to take your ex out for a ride.

Sooooooo.... The current car is named Kathy. I've lusted after this car since I was 16, and Kathy Ireland was my "dream girl" way back then. So she gets the honor.

Hilarious! I never thought about that. And to carry it further, I totally thought of the 80s movie Top Secret! when I read that. Thanks for the laugh!

"the red one", or
"the black one", or
"the blue one".

I did give my daughter a new name: "Short Straw". I haven't let her get her drivers license yet so every time she need to go somewhere (and I mean constantly. . . ) my wife and I decide "who is going to get the Short Straw".

This of course replaces her child hood name were we caught her typing an age inappropriate text message to one of her friends: "Potty Thumbs".

My 65 fastback is called Sheila and is named after an MG convertible of somewhat ill repute.
The truck is called UGLY because when I first bought it and got it running, everybody asked me "why are you driving around in that old ugly truck".
The motorcycle is called ebony for reasons I should not mention on here but you can just use your imagination regarding that.

The only nickname I have for any of my 5 cars is the 95 olds cutlass I gave to my son to drive. It is "The Green Machine"

After years of not being able to think of one I finally decided on Madame Blue. If you are a STYX fan you know where I got the name from... Sometimes she is just Blue and sometimes Madame. sometimes both..

My '65 is known around the house as "The Mustang". My wife and I also refer to it as "The Mistress" or "The Other Woman". My 13 year old daughter refers to it as "My Future Car".

I've started a blog about my car and adventures: http://65mustangfun.blogspot.com/

1965 Fastback, 289, Toploader 4 Speed, owned by me since June 1980. Originally a C-code with a C-4. 5R09C16****
