Discovered something today

3M brush on seam sealer and SEM 29372 seam sealer are not compatible. Yesterday I brushed some of the 3M over a small bead of the SEM stuff, today I discovered that the 3M sealer would not stick to the SEM sealer and was actually shrinking away from it. As soon as the 3m sealer is cured enough I'm going remove it. This was on the trunk floor, after it's removed I can spread some of the SEM over a gap I was trying to fill.

Interesting. Wouldn't have thought the 3M sealer would have reacted adversely with the other sealer. Was the SEM cured when you applied the 3M?

Thanks for sharing

The SEM has been on about a week or so. It felt dry to the touch. According to the invoice, the 3M sealer was for a Chevy truck and just got scared when it was applied to a Mustang.
